It is a pleasant village, with many surprises and very friendly people. The solutions found in churches, such as cafes, are a driving force for the community.

Room very sparse very cold difficult to get heating on had to go to reception to sort ! No cupboard or drawers ! Can’t get ITV on tele disgusting breakfast in a box got a cheek to charge 85 quid for a night Day light robbery and also had to pay to use the car park too bloody cheek Not happy! Stay clear ! Very happy with our stay. Freedom to come and go as and when. Felt safe and secure, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast here is only 'Grab and Go', but there are very nice coffee shops nearby.

Dust on desk inside the room- if you have hay-fever do not go there. Towels were not swapped for the 3 nights i was there. Need to use public parking. Noise coming from upstairs.

I had a booking which was made 4 months in advance and paid for in full. The hotel called me at quarter to six on the day of check in, being very evasive and implying but not confirming absolutely that there was a problem with my booking. The room that I had booked was an accessible room and I had booked it in preparation to attend an important medical appointment. It took a further 90 minutes to get the hotel to confirm that they could not fulfil my booking… I firmly believe that the intention was to make me cancel and forfeit my refund. No offer of an alternative was made. Subsequent contact with Travelodge CS has been again, evasive and breathtakingly dishonest. Upon subsequent research it appears that it is a standard practice for Travelodge to overbook their rooms by 25%. I believe that they did this to me with a customer who paid more for the room. I’d urge anybody NOT to use Travelodge for advance bookings for any important stays. I will certainly steer clear of them at all costs in the future
